Parque La Bateria (Battery Park), Torremolinos

(850+ reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
Also dubbed “Heaven on Earth,” Parque La Bateria (Battery Park) is a beautiful park that was once a military fortress. Don’t miss the four preserved cannons and two underground bunkers. This park is virtually a botanical garden, with plant life from around the world. Go up the lookout tower and enjoy the view of the coastline. Stroll or jog along the pathways, and visit the lake to rent a boat and skim across the water. Kids will love the merry-go-round. It’s best to take snacks and drinks with you, although vending machines are also provided near the entrance. • A nice try , but few grown up trees to provide shade on a summer's day. The other minus is the lack of a proper cafeteria to sit down and enjoy your stay.
  • Nice park and a neat idea they have a dummy tree buy a capsule and put kids dummy inside to hang on tree worked a treat for our grandson never had one since
  • Quite a discovery. After the busy areas of Torremolinos, to find this beautifully maintained tranquil park. It's not open all the time so check the hours. Inside you'll find:- a boating lake, a great kids play area, shaded picnic gazebos, a jogging/cycling track around the outside, "Park Keepers!" not to mention the guns from which it gets its name. (and if you're a geocacher, it's even got a couple of those) The views from the top of the tower (it has a lift!) are spectacular as are the fountains and sculptures. Well worth a visit.
  • Lovely place bigger than it looks. Lots of seats. Great views and history. Boating pond and play park for the kids. Often quite quiet.
  • Tranquil, green, tidy park with great views of Carihuela and along the coast. Not as big as Paloma park but still worth a visit. There is a nice big (bright blue) boating lake that only costs a euro. If you have children then there is a play area with climbing frames, slides and mini trampolines set into the ground. There are water features, cannons, and a tower within the grounds. Why not make an afternoon of it... take a picnic?
