Nature / Park
Also dubbed “Heaven on Earth,” Parque La Bateria (Battery Park) is a beautiful park that was once a military fortress. Don’t miss the four preserved cannons and two underground bunkers. This park is virtually a botanical garden, with plant life from around the world. Go up the lookout tower and enjoy the view of the coastline. Stroll or jog along the pathways, and visit the lake to rent a boat and skim across the water. Kids will love the merry-go-round. It’s best to take snacks and drinks with you, although vending machines are also provided near the entrance. • Bit of a walk up hill to get to but well worth it. Very well kept park with water features. Stunning views overlooking the sea. Interesting history. Stayed for about an hour, some shaded areas to sit.  more »

  • A nice park with a bit of history. Great views from the top of tower which is accessible by elevator. A lovely little boating lake and an excellent children's play area. Downsides are that it lacks some good shade or a little cafe for those hot summer days.
  • Lovely fountains etc. There only seems to be one entrance/exit so we couldn't walk through it, had to retrace ours steps to get out.
  • I visited this park in the morning and it was very peaceful, there were plenty of people out for their morning walk/jog, but that didn't detract from the beauty of the place. If I were a local I would visit this often.
  • A nice try , but few grown up trees to provide shade on a summer's day. The other minus is the lack of a proper cafeteria to sit down and enjoy your stay.
  • Good for running. The park has track/path for running, toilets, water, outside gym equipment and a kids play park.
