Where to stay in Toledo

When visiting Toledo, staying inside the old city walls allows for on foot access to all of the area's historical landmarks as well as a tight network of shops, restaurants, and museums. Similarly, staying in the old center, which sits on a raised hill overlooking the city, avoids a daily hike to the city's main attractions. Many old buildings in the center have been transformed into boutique hotels and guest houses, allowing visitors to experience the rich historical heritage and beautiful architecture of the city.

  • This Roman circus is one of the best preserved of its kind and there is more to see here than elsewhere in Spain (and Rome come to that). There is perhaps only a small percentage of the original const...  more »
  • First of all I agree with small Perez: is almost unknown. Quite well preserved. Missing explanations: we went with 2 of my grandkids and one of my children, the children thought they were ruins of a Coliseum (sand). Not so the circus were where they ran chariot races, romano is quite well preserved. The experience was very good but came walking through the area and completely ignoring your existence

  • Only one can be a real idea of the colossal dimensions of the Roman circus of Toledo if it dares to go around its ruins throughout the Park which are, and which are more quite further than the boundaries of the same. To my personally I find it a real luxury to be able to come to the same bases without having barrier structure that you limit. The part that is still standing is very charming. However, some of that there is also another 'but'. This monument is one of the great unknowns of Toledo. It is hardly publicized and people coming to the city not visit it because it does not even know that it is there. In addition, there are explanatory posters and the conservation of the same enough leaves to be desired. Tip: Visit is completely free, since it is inside a public park.
