Plaza de Zocodover, Toledo
(3/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Plaza de Zocodover has been the heart of Toledo since medieval times. Throughout its long history, it's served as an open-air market, bull running arena, and center of the Spanish Inquisition. Its name comes from the Arabic “Souk al-Dawab,” or market of the beasts of burden, a holdover from its time as a livestock market for the Moors. Today, you'll find outdoor cafes, tourist information, bus and taxi stands, a play area, and many narrow streets branching off into the city. It's a good place to have a drink and watch the hustle and bustle of daily life in Toledo. The tourist train that leaves from the plaza offers views of the ancient city unavailable by car or public transport. • A place that there is to do, since it is practically the Center and starting point of any visit. Also from this square take the tourist train, point of origin, I also recommend you can.

  • Was an Arab market and until a few years ago there stood a flea market called popularly "Tuesday". Today it is a crowded square. Where we can relax and have a drink on the terrace or go shopping in nearby La Plaza de Zocodover was our point of reference in our visit to Toledo. From there we started to move by Toledo without problems. If you want to take tours or search for information on this square you will find what you need to get the most of out during your stay in Toledo

  • Busy square, stretch out in the Sun and people (including many tourists). Boarding place for the tourist train. Pity the fast food chains in the old buildings. Beautiful by look towards River and station in the form of a Keyhole. Delicious roasted chestnuts purchased from a stall.
