  • In my opinion about the tapestries in the Cathedral Museum is very good since we attended the best way that I could imagine, and in connection with decorations that were there were incredible and were in good condition despite the years that have.

  • Museo de Tapices y Textiles de la Catedral was a museum that surprised me, for rarely has been as big a wall hangings experience. In the vast majority of the exhibited rugs, you can really see what the motives depicting, which otherwise often can be difficult when the carpets are old and worn. A total of 24 impressive rugs displayed in this still new museum, which opened in 2014. The most impressive is perhaps the Belgian carpet Weaver Jan Franz Van den Hecke (1620-1684) large rugs after designs by Peter Paul Rubens, but also the painter Bernard van Orleys (1492-1542) series with images of Moses ' life, woven by the Belgian Weaver Albert Auwerck (1629-1707) is an experience. In the spaces with the exhibited rugs placed display case with fine cases in gold, silver and ivory. Here is also statues, splendid exhibition hageler and an altarpiece by Luis de Velasco, and the visit will end with a "Monumento de Jueves Santo", Skærtorsdags-monument created by Ignacio Haan (1758-1810). The monument was originally placed in Toledo Cathedral and had a very big stair building, which gave it a height of 26 meters. As it is displayed in the Museo de Tapices is stair construction, however, was omitted, and the monument is significantly smaller but still very high. It is distinguished in a special room with lighting from above. As mentioned was the visit to this museum has a large and good surprise. Note that the ticket to Catedral Primada (10 € in 2017) also is valid in Museo de Tapices.

  • A recent Museum, where what really worthwhile is the building itself. If it crosses your path, enter.
