Museo De Santa Cruz, Toledo
(4.1/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Explore Museo De Santa Cruz, a museum featuring collections dedicated to the history and artwork of Toledo. The famous artist El Greco is highlighted heavily here, and the tapestries and ceramics are worth your time. Besides the exhibits, the architecture is a draw: Gothic and Plateresque styles join to create a magical sight. Check out the high ceilings, the long galleries, and the worn wooden doors and floorboards. There is little in way of English descriptions, so you may want to hire a guide. Museo De Santa Cruz is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Toledo Edition.

  • The building was initially a hospital. It is splendid. The area where the do meet ships, perpendicular, is very notable. The cloister is good, and the staircase that is to access the upper cloister is very good. The work described, multidisciplinary and not only painting, is also good. In my opinion, it is worth to spend a good time

  • To begin with the friendliness of the staff and free admission to job seekers. The building on the outside is beautiful and has a charming cloister. In addition to the permanent exhibition, very interesting, there is a temporary exhibition of photographs related to the world of Cervantes, very interesting. Essential in Toledo

  • Bit expensive considering how much there was to see. It was interesting and they had some cool stuff including some Greco's, but it was quite a small collection. Enjoyed what we did see even though so...  more »

  • Nicely curated museum. A lot of history outlined.
  • See some real El Greco's for a small price in a manageable size museum. I like the variety of types of art.
  • Not bad if you do what we did and get to Toledo before everything is open. Just don't go to the Prado the day before or you will be museumed out.
  • Random mix of art and historical exhibits, including an African art section (?). They have a few El Greco paintings, but otherwise there wasn't much I found compelling here. The building itself is kind of neat. The automated ticket machine didn't give me back change, so use a credit card or get a ticket from a person at the booth.
  • Love this place. Looks beautiful
