  • The convent of Santo Domingo the old should be visited, in my opinion, for the following reasons: 1) inside the Conventual marzipan these are the best of Toledo. A help is always buy it to the nuns for the support of the heritage custodian (and hard to preserve). (2) it is the burial place of El Greco with one of their best pictorial sets in the main Altar. Unfortunately most of the paintings were sold to the Museum of the Prado (for maintenance purposes) and now there is placed about 3 copies) the curious convent Museum with lots of details and curiosities that atreran the interest of tourists. (4) the own nuns with their explanations. A bit is a following hand but worth the visit.

  • I agree with Unamuno in that "museums are cemeteries of art". Therefore see in the altarpiece of this beautiful convent works by El Greco, on the provision that he chose, and in the place for which were created, elevates the intensity of the aesthetic shock to contemplate them. The San Juan Bautista y San Juan Evangelista are impressive, and despite being the first commissions to El Greco to settle in Toledo, are already perceived his unique style and brutal force of its color. They have also a small museum with interesting pieces, such as a table of the 15th century, Romanesque carvings, Visigoths remains... All very badly illuminated and with a strange exhibition criteria, but with great charm. If you over auctions there buying itself some marzipan sweets made by the nuns of the convent, else you can request? A fascinating experience

  • 5 stars for the works it contains, but I don't like that it is not allowed to take photographs (even more so when pay input) and seemed a little (rather) poor the way in which the tomb of el Greco, is indicated if you don't know you can ignore it. I felt a little off.
