  • Convento Santo Domingo el Antiguo has its roots back in 500 centuries; the current building dates from around the year 1000 but underwent major changes in the 1500 century. The architecture is largely influenced by the Moorish style. Guests visiting the Church and its museum with photos and ecclesiastical effects. It's quite special about Museo Convento Santo Domingo el Antiguo is the altarpieces as El Greco got commissioned and performed in 1577, and which absolutely is reason to visit the site. There are today three altarpieces, but as far as I understand, there have been several originally in the Church. We must unfortunately not photographing inside the Church and in the Museum, which is a little weird, because all the images are already on the Internet.

  • Very interesting, even if the visitor is only allowed to see the picture of the Greek Entierro Conde de Orgaz, breathtakingly beautiful and never exhibited in a Museum, because it is impossible to remove it from the wall. Not to be missed

  • This Cistercian Monastery-the oldest in Toledo. It is believed that he appeared in the XI-century immediately after the reconquest of Toledo from the Moors. In the 16th century, the monastery was rebuilt. El Greco was buried here, who wrote for the monastery a few canvases. However, almost all of them are in other museums are in Madrid and Chicago, as well as in private collections. Now only two paintings-original available here. They can be seen in the Museum of the monastery. A part of the monastery is also the Church of Saint Leocadia and include the Church of Santa Eulalia.

  • It is a scam of visit. The price was 2.5 euros and not worth anything. There is nothing to do. It is simply a small church with an altar, 4 paintings that are neither del Greco and little else. On the floor and behind a glass of half a meter by half a meter, you sensed a small crypt there is a sarcophagus which supposedly told the nun who was the tomb of el Greco... I've wasted time watching this monastery, now I say unto you, there is nothing to do, is prettier on the outside to inside. In addition, the nun who claimed us entry was too much edge and never explained anything to us. The marzipan which lay for sale are very expensive, it is more, you can buy them at the grocery store that is a little later at less price. Simply, I felt cheated.

  • Enjoy the place where he began painting el Greco in Toledo. Don't forget to buy some candy to the nuns, you won't regret it
