Cathedral of Teruel, Teruel

(3.8/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Experience the architecture and decor of a 12th-century cathedral at Cathedral of Teruel. See one of the oldest and best-preserved Mudejar bell towers in Spain, built in three sections, decorated in ceramic tile, and topped with an octagonal lantern from the 17th century. One of the most notable features of the cathedral is the ceiling, called the Sistine Chapel of Mudejar art. Built in the 13th century, the wooden ceiling is ornately decorated with hunting scenes, religious themes, vegetation, geometric designs, and Moorish inscriptions. In 1986, UNESCO declared the tower, wooden ceiling, and dome of the cathedral the joint Mudejar monuments of the city. • Maintain clean the oldest Tower in the old town and the guidebook is indistinguishable from the other Tower did not. Exterior of the Cathedral and the tower to have a blend. Great attractions is not too much internal wooden ceiling. I think Teruel inconvenient people are like architecture. If you are worth paying admission just to see this.

  • The Cathedral of Teruel is built in Mudejar style, in brick with beautiful decorations of masonry and colored stones. Within are the chapels filled with pressure processed retabelen. The 13th-century ceiling is brilliance: a wooden ceiling with wood carvings and paintings. If you buy a ticket for the cathedral (3 euros), you also have access to the adjacent Museo de Arte Sacro, in which the wealth of the Church are shown (paintings and sculptures of Saints, objects for worship). The Cathedral is on the Unesco list of world heritage.
