(4.9/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web)
Explore the old capital of the Taifa Moorish kingdom, Albarracin. The historic town, notable for its fortified enclosure, boasts structures dating back to the 10th century, such as the Alcázar Fortress and Andador Tower. Walk the steep, narrow streets of the original town center with views over the Guadalaviar river. Admire the impressive 16th-century architecture of the El Salvador Cathedral and adjoining Episcopal Palace. You can also see samples of post-Paleolithic art in the city park. Wear sturdy shoes for walking the old cobblestone streets. Plan your Albarracin visit and explore what else you can see and do in Teruel using our Teruel vacation builder.

  • It is a town very nice, ideal for hiking and see the River, has a great parking. There are a few very good restaurants, but there is jacertar at the time of joining, not all are friendly

  • We passed through Albarracin on our way to the Peracense Castle. It's a very nice and small town, really worth the visit.
  • Any traveller visiting Teruel, if in addition to the capital know some people, sure it is Albarracín. Teruel is actually full of small treasures little known, perhaps because the main roads cross the province by the less picturesque, its great central Páramo. In Teruel all his mastership, is very interesting from Cantavieja, Iglesuela del Cid, etc. until Alcalá de la Selva, Mora de Rubielos, Rubielos de Mora, and the region of Aragon, senior people (Greeks, etc.) and others that seem to come out of some movie like Pitarque. And suddenly in the immensity of the central Páramo appear and places like the Montoro organs that leave us speechless. Albarracín is gorgeous; Without a doubt one of the villages most picturesque in Spain. Their success is also cause of certain tourist overexploitation, which does not hide its beauty from walled city, but can make your visit advisable in low season, and if you can during the week. In that case it must be borne in mind that its oversized offer hospitality imposes its law to ease, and that might be impossible to eat at reference sites, because "As today did not come nobody we've closed soon" at two thirty in the afternoon and other similar excuses that reveal who the real blame that which both complain that "Teruel does not exist"
