Teide Cable Car, Tenerife

(3.3/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
Take the cable car to the summit of Spain’s highest mountain, Mount Teide, set in its largest national park. Teide Cable Car takes you on an eight-minute journey to 3,555 m (11,663 ft) above sea level. As you ascend, observe the unusual rock formations and array of colors formed by the mountain, which is an active volcano. Once you reach the summit, marvel at the far-reaching views of the park and island. The upper station serves as the starting point for three popular walking routes. Bring a picnic with you or eat at the cafe located at the lower station. Warm clothes are recommended, as it can be quite cold at high altitude. • I would recommend going by car are there is so much to enjoy by driving up to the cable car. Fascinating changes in landscape as you ascend to the crater and cable car. Easy to see why this area is us...  more »
  • The Teide cable car ride was ok in spite of many passengers. Imagined worse's us, as we have seen the cable cars as on arrival. The price is of course already not little, but the car must be serviced also. Up on the mountain, you have a wonderful view. The trails are well marked.

  • We went in February and went early, but still had a slight wait for our cable car trip. As others have said we were not told that the cable car journey does not give you access to the crater of Tiede. ...  more »

  • The drive to the station - it is definitely worth it but the extra €54 (for 2 adults) to wait 1hr+ to get on the cable car then see nothing extra compared to what you have already seen on your way up there isn't worth it. For hikers I'm sure it's great but for others it isn't.
  • The pictures show it all to be honest. There isn't much at the top, nowhere to get a drink. There is some toilets but that's it. Having paid €40.50 for myself and my 8year old, I wouldn't go again - it's a bit expensive in my opinion for what's up there. If there was a restaurant of coffee shop that you could sit in and enjoy the surroundings then fine but as there isn't it's a bit of a waste of money.
  • Very quick transport up to the top of Teide. Not bad food at the bottom but there is a lack of seating. Also very few spots of shade outside.
  • Great service to the top of Teide. To climb last 100 m , permission has to be granted by local park. Beautiful views of crater, sea of clouds and other Canary Islands.
  • After hiking up the volcano for 3 hours and 40 mins from Montana Blanca I was relieved to see this once I had reached the top And after all the pictures had been taken I just wanted to get back down the volcano , head straight for my hotel and jump in the shower and get some sleep as quickly as possible And thanks to the cable car it made my dream a lot more achievable Jumped straight in the cue bought my ticket Handed it over to the ticket inspector and just waited to board Whilst inside you get an amazing view And before you know it you've reached the bottom Maybe not for people who are claustrophobic because the car takes a maximum amount of people up and down the volcano and that's exactly how many get crammed in like little sardines in a tin 😁 Overall would definitely use it again
