Playa de la Arena, Tenerife
(3.7/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
One Tenerife’s few natural beaches, Playa de la Arena makes up in cleanliness and beauty what it lacks in size. This small stretch of sand consistently wins European Blue Flag recognition for excellence. The black sand can get quite hot during summer, so make use of the lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent. When you want a break from the hard work of relaxing by the water, take a stroll to Los Gigantes, a set of cliffs overlooking the water. From here, you'll have commanding views of waves crashing into the rugged coastline. Cafes and restaurants line the beach. Plan your Playa de la Arena visit and explore what else you can see and do in Puerto de Santiago using our Puerto de Santiago trip itinerary maker.

  • A lovely little area with a good beach and plenty of shops. Far quieter than the big resorts further down the coast. Looks to have just a few hotels.
  • Hi is this beach of black sand but sand not the typical pebbles that are almost sand, is small but very well located and is not normally saturated, with two restaurants on the same side, to my taste, very highly recommended
