Masca Valley, Tenerife
(4.7/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
A challenging walk that winds between craggy mountains near the coast gives you access to Masca Valley, with its beach and village. A hike up the mountain from the beach will reward you with shops that sell local products and a handful of bars. Walks vary from difficult to easy and provide spectacular views and bird watching. Wear walking shoes with soles that grip because parts of the path can be slippery. You can also reach the valley by bus to the village from Los Gigantes or by taking a water taxi, which drops passengers directly on the beach every hour and a half during peak season. Book a spot on a water taxi in advance or just grab an extra seat.  Using our world travel planner, Masca attractions like Masca Valley can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • A unique trip along a twisty narrow road which must have been a challenge to build. Good views all along the route some very close encounters with other vehicles. The village was well worth seeing but...  more »
  • One of the great experiences on Tenerife, to drive down and through this valley. As others have said, the road isn't that scary as you really can't go fast and there are barriers to stop you falling o...  more »
  • Go to the Valley of Munch is to get lost in time, say was hideout of pirates who came to its coast (on the Atlantic Ocean). Their views with deep ravines and cliffs are impressive removed the breathing. To reach the picturesque village did it in an all-terrain 4 x 4 for a few winding roads where the excitement is guaranteed.!! Without a doubt one of the villages and valleys more precious that I have visited
