Las Montanas de Anaga, Tenerife
(4.9/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
With a rugged coastline and jagged peaks, Las Montanas de Anaga is a place of legend, beauty, and history. At 1,024 m (3,600 ft), this mountain range is the highest point in both the Canary Islands and Spain itself. Explore the mountains’ many protected areas and marked trails, spread out through a number of national parks, and marvel at its massive geological formations, formed in a giant volcanic eruption over 7 million years ago. Discover viewing areas high above the Atlantic Ocean, and keep your eyes open for the witches that populate the area, according to Tenerife mythology. Grab a bite at a cafe or restaurant in one of the villages, or bring snacks along for a picnic on the way. Be aware that many of the inner parts of the mountain range are inaccessible by car, and wear proper footwear, as some of the routes are very rugged. For this same reason, hiking in the area is not recommended for those with mobility problems. Put Las Montanas de Anaga on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Almaciga vacation generator.

  • Really beautifully green and impressive! Unfortunately we didn't have the most practical clothes for a longer hike, but that we reached that view was enough to give the impression. The weather is much more unstable North on the island of ift. to the South, remember rainwear, a warm sweater and shoes that can withstand the mud and moisture in Anaga are explored. This nature experience is definitely a must in Tenerife together with Volcan El Teide, so you get seen the big contrast there is on an otherwise small island.

  • Perfect place to find peace) should be well prepared, because the temperature hover closer to 10 degrees, the views are breathtaking, there I saw the most beautiful landscapes, and the best vantage point is Paco. :)

  • Take a day to visit this area .... beautiful! We unfortunately trovayo once a little against ... fog, rain and wind but it was well worth it. Stop by to look at the view from mirador .... and then finish your ride to Taganana. ... Ask for details at the various tourist offices on the island.
