Museo de la Pirateria, Teguise

3.1
#7 of 15 in Historic Sites in Lanzarote
While Museo de la Pirateria is not an easy place to access, the museum's contents and remarkable location make the trip worth it. Sitting atop a hill overlooking Teguise, the castle requires visitors to navigate a narrow road with sharp drops on either side, and even parking spots are located on the edge of a cliff because of limited space. Regardless, incredible views await you in every direction. The fortification once protected the land from pirates, but now acts as a memorial. Learn about the history of piracy in the area, see ancient weapons, and even examine a replica of the castle as it once was. Models of the ships are also available. • It is a Museum for the lovers of the history of piracy in the area. As you go to the castle of Santa Bárbara, the impressive, is the view of the town of Teguise. Be careful with the children on the cliffs.

  • Interesting visit to the castle of santa Barbara, where we have been able to see that there were also pirates in the Canary Islands. Recommended for a visit with children.

  • Very very normalito Museum with four things from pirates. The interesting part of the visit is to see in Castle and views. More suitable for children than anything else. There are visits much more recommendable in the island. Price € 3

  • The Castle, a small place on the edge of the mouth of a volcano, it is fine. The Museum inside instead is unwatchable. Equipment suitable for kindergarten children. There are pubs around the world that have pirate-themed set up much much better than this "Museum".

  • Admission € 3 (were not in there), but alone the views and the circulation of the volcano's crater are worth a trip there in any case. At the Museum directly, there are very few parking spaces, it is rather a "wait until one goes away and then try to come together", therefore prefer the Bay before use and the rest walk a few metres.

  • Beautiful view and there is also something to learn about the history of piracy. The price of €3 is therefore justified and okay.

  • Place not great and there are things of little interest apart from the documentaries that take the various captains of the time.
