Anfiteatro de Tarragona, Tarragona
(4.4/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
The site of gladiator battles, wild animal hunts, and executions, Anfiteatro de Tarragona gives you a feel for the history of the Roman empire in Catalonia as of the second century CE. Once able to accommodate up to 15,000 spectators, this amphitheater was later home to a church and a prison. Consider the ticket allowing entrance to five different sites, including this one. If time is short, you can walk the perimeter for free. To visit Anfiteatro de Tarragona and other attractions in Tarragona, use our Tarragona tour planner.

  • It is worth to take the entrance for three monuments, is located next to the sea and esti makes you beautiful. Okay walking through the stands and go down to the pit

  • The amphitheatre is too damaged by the presence of the railway and modern barriers to transport the spirit in Roman times. However it is a good starting point for beautiful walks the right port either to the beach of miracles and his neighborhood in cornices to the right. From there one can up towards the old city through to beautiful viewpoints.

  • If they walk around the coast of Tarragona, are one step away from the amphitheatre... You can see from the outside, allowing a nice view, or enter to get to know.

  • Si vens a Tarragona l'has de visitar. If you visit Tarragona you have to go.
  • Stunning piece of art! Aside from a civil war, Spain has not been a war zone (unlike other European countries). As a result, Spain houses some of the best, well preserved ancient architecture.
  • This will force you to stop and think of the Romans in Spain. You will have no choice but to get a book or listen to a podcast and learn about how modern Spain came to exist...
  • It's nice to visit, but only if you are willing to buy the ticket combined for all roman attractions. The single ticket dont worth it.
  • Beautiful place, worth the visit. Not much left of the original amphitheater but it's so inexpensive you can't complain. Beautiful views.
