Anfiteatro de Tarragona, Tarragona

The site of gladiator battles, wild animal hunts, and executions, Anfiteatro de Tarragona gives you a feel for the history of the Roman empire in Catalonia as of the second century CE. Once able to accommodate up to 15,000 spectators, this amphitheater was later home to a church and a prison. Consider the ticket allowing entrance to five different sites, including this one. If time is short, you can walk the perimeter for free. • Very interesting, can be partially committed. Best one takes the high road above the sight, so it has a good overview of the entire system. Also, there are the best shots from there. There is a sidewalk.

  • One of the best preserved amphitheatres (partly renovated) of Spain. The sea view will give a very special Mediterranean touch. Compulsory visit if you go through Tarraco.

  • A very historical and beautiful place, with a great view and a lot of history to dive into, both with your mobile and your eyes. The place will receive 4 out of 5 stars, one star missing because of the state of the place, not as well kept as other places with similar feels to it.
  • Nothing good. The best is a friendly concierge. We got stolen. The breakfast is more then pore. No eggs, old bread and only 2 kinds of ham. Service on the bar is slowly, I waited 8 minutes that I can order a beer. In the bathroom the tab is not working. The shower have no power. Pore. This Hotel earned maybe 1 star for a nice clean room and a friendly concierge. I don't recommend this Hotel.
  • An interesting reconstruction of the original amphitheatre. Sadly most if the original construction has been lost over time and one section even has a medieval church built over it. Still worth a visit though to those interested in such things.
  • It's alright, beautiful views out to sea and some food information but it's been rebuilt so is not the original thing
  • Completely worth the extremely reasonable entry fee. On certain week day it's free. One should donate if possible. This is a beautiful place rich with ancient history and magnificent views. We love Tarragona and her people!
