Anfiteatro de Tarragona
The site of gladiator battles, wild animal hunts, and executions, Anfiteatro de Tarragona gives you a feel for the history of the Roman empire in Catalonia as of the second century CE. Once able to accommodate up to 15,000 spectators, this amphitheater was later home to a church and a prison. Consider the ticket allowing entrance to five different sites, including this one. If time is short, you can walk the perimeter for free. Put Anfiteatro de Tarragona and other Tarragona attractions into our Tarragona online tour itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

Such a cool place to see within a bustling city. An added bonus is that this site is right on the water which provides picturesque views.

This place could be a jewel to visit, if there would not be barriers everywhere to prevent you to go further. So better save the money and admire it from above. It is definitely more impressive.
-
Amazing site. Well preserved, and close to the city centre. A helpful audio guide in many languages. The entry was free on the day of my visit which is another bonus.

So beautiful place and it's free. Beautiful view of the sea behind. If you are near there, you must go.
-
2000 year old roman amphitheatre beside the sea side. Very well preserved. Must see in Tarragona.
