  • It also houses the personal collection of the ceramist Ruiz de Luna and other potters like the Menora, Guijo, Montemayor, Brook etc. Opened in 1996, located in the former convent of San Agustín. This collection is organized into SERIES that illustrate the evolution of the style, use of colors, motifs of decoration and influence of other craftsmen. The main Series are: 1) series of butterflies: in blue and white background; designs of butterflies that alternate with flowers, figures of animals with Mudéjar influence. (siglo XVI y XVII) 2) series of cuts: in blue and yellow touches. Motifs recall work iron with heads of angels, clusters, circles. (3) series Tricolor: used 3 colors, black for the figures, blue and orange pair the inside of those drawings. (4) SERIES POLYCHROME: MAXIMUM SPLENDOUR of the CERAMIC of Talavera. Palette call "fire" colors Blue, yellow, green, ochre and black. Motifs: landscapes, human figures, animal as if it were a picture. Religious reasons. ((5) series BLUE: grounds with vegetable decoration as trees in blue 6) series Alcorenas: by influenacia de Alcora: factory of French-style pieces with moulds pottery. Colors more soft, style rococo. Change forms of jars of classic vinetera type ball. 7) series of the Puntilla Berain: ornaments with small leaves combined to purl, co motives of lattice mode. (8) series being of el Chaparro: reasons for a river that passes under a bridge. (9) number of the Virgin of the Meadow: Patron Saint of the city of Talavera, in blue and polychrome tiles. I have attached photos of each of the series because it is really instructive.

  • In Ruiz de Luna Museum, master Potter of the town, we can admire various pieces of ceramics talaverana, universally known. It has a large number of current and past centuries both parts, which allowed us to see how ceramics evolved over time. We left happy to see the wonders there exposed, fascinate us with the explanation they gave us of the ceramics manufacturing process.

  • I liked it so much; among others, it has a collection of ceramics from the 16TH century to the 20th Century, very interesting. Video of the whole process of creation of ceramics.
