Architectural Building
Constructed between the 12th and 13th centuries, and once the headquarters of the Knights of St. John, Monasterio de San Juan de Duero (Arcos de San Juan de Duero) is an incredible example of Romanesque religious architecture. Wander the courtyards and hallways, part of a working monastery until the 18th century, and imagine the lives of the monks and knights who called them home. Examine the rows of intricately carved archways lining the cloisters, each from a slightly different time period, or look up at the vaulted interior of the church chapel. Parking is available near the site, although the monastery is also a short walk from the town of Soria. • It is free, the visit is short, but it's nice. It is on the banks of the river and there is a restaurant with terrace on the side.

  • The monastery had to be impressive, but it is well little that remains, this semi in ruins, must take imagination to get an idea of how it was, but if you are in the area is worth to see it approach.

  • It is a jewel of Romanesque architecture which is a must-see on a trip to Soria. Is located on the banks of the Duero. From there you can see the magnificent Roman bridge. In addition complete the visit a lovely optional walk along the river. Great visit in spring by the greenery of nature, impressive in autumn with the fall of the leaf and bucolic dream in a snowy winter. 100% recommend it

  • Extraordinary set of Romanesque architecture. What you see today are the remains of a monastery of the order military of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem. It was erected in the first half of the 12TH S and was inhabited until the 18TH

  • Very nice and care, the capitals of the interior are very well carved, with different figures and allegories, the outer cloister is very curious with different types of bows and Romanesque columns, it is worth entering, you have to always pay.

  • After seeing him in school books, it doesn't disappoint. Along with the Duero is a very original cloister in their bows

  • I do not think either that they cannot enter dogs with their corresponding belt inside of the arches. Otherwise everything very well preserved
