Constructed between the 12th and 13th centuries, and once the headquarters of the Knights of St. John, Monasterio de San Juan de Duero (Arcos de San Juan de Duero) is an incredible example of Romanesque religious architecture. Wander the courtyards and hallways, part of a working monastery until the 18th century, and imagine the lives of the monks and knights who called them home. Examine the rows of intricately carved archways lining the cloisters, each from a slightly different time period, or look up at the vaulted interior of the church chapel. Parking is available near the site, although the monastery is also a short walk from the town of Soria. • It appalled to see the cloisters and the Church of San Juan. The place is gorgeous. Lots of history there locked up. Pity that more rooms are not preserved.

  • Much art in a small space. It wouldn't be others that explain a little how much that is there. On the other hand the education of many tourists leave what want, it is a place to listen to the silence not a rutting.

  • The eclectic architectural style of this cloister makes it unique, and its location along the River, a perfect place to end an evening walk. The light falling the Sun is very special in that place.

  • Impressive landscape. The cloister, which looks like a showcase of architectural styles, is the most characteristic of this building. Visit is a must.
