Ermita de San Saturio, Soria

Ermita de San Saturio is a beautiful 18th-century shrine next to a river. A local figure named San Saturio is buried here, honored for donating his entire family inheritance to the poor. The interior of the building is richly decorated, with colorful stained-glass windows lighting up the walls. Talk to a guide to understand the church’s full history and the stories surrounding it. The environment outside is just as enjoyable. Walk, bike, or jog along the banks of the river, where the crowds are sparse and you can enjoy some peace. • It is a must-see that it enjoyed before coming. The views of the Hermitage as you walk along the Duero are magnificent. The visit starts from the Grotto used by San Saturio in retirement and ascend to a lavishly decorated Chapel. There are explanatory panels in different rooms and good views over the Duero. The visit is free. The Hermitage is maintained thanks to donations and the sale of souvenirs.

  • San Saturio is one of those semi unknown places and that surprised when you know. The Chapel is beautiful and the views are amazing. You can also go walking along the path of the river and enjoy the nature. Highly recommended.

  • We were visiting this jewel Soria on a stormy afternoon in August. The environment in unmatched, on the banks of the Duero and locked in the rock. Although there are only about 4 parking spaces can be accessible by car. Also you can walk along the promenade of the river and cross the pedestrian bridge that leads to the Hermitage. It is a magical, mysterious place, it's like moving into the unknown. There are several rooms, altars, etc. I would highlight the beauty of the Chapel and the views from the large windows to the Douro River. Beautiful chapel.

  • A nice walk with a nice view, especially in autumn.
  • 👍
  • Not only the Chapel, around the place is full of magic. Whenever you will discover something new, some detail... It would be perfect to the day that do not allow access with vehicles up to the door of the Chapel and enjoy the promenade along the Duero calmly.

  • The location is perfect if you like solitude and silence, which today is so difficult to find. PD. If there are no people who disturb it.
