Where to stay in Seville

Seville's flat, grid-like city center makes it one of Spain's most walkable cities. While no part of the center is more than a 15-minute walk away, you might enjoy staying on one of the many picturesque cobblestone streets leading off from the famous Cathedral in Plaza España. Boutique hotels and historical apartment rentals intermix with the old quarter's tapa bars and Andalusian storefronts. Nearby, Barrio Santa Cruz is a bit quieter than the main plaza but still boasts the city's sought-after old-world charm. Across the river is the Triana neighborhood, where a lack of heavy tourism has preserved the strong local scene in this mainly residential area full of traditional restaurants and corner bars.

  • Great views from the obscure Obscura. Worth the trip, the bus is the c2 which is the external city circuit one. Drops you off at the door. Go when it's clear and sunny. The camera works best then. The clarity and range is something to behold. The external viewing gallery is well placed to offer good views of the city as well. €4 euro for the external and camera showing. Worth it.
  • Rise in elevator (schindler). Nice view of the city. Price €2 for the mirador or €4 for the darkroom

  • Opened as "Camera Obscura" on March 28, 2007, being a tourist attraction allowing you to see the city from a height of 45 meters, nearly half of the Giralda. Also as a foreign viewpoint. Very curious.
