MONUMENT to the tolerance is located in the so-called salt dock next to the historic bridge of Triana. The sculpture is the work of the famous sculptor Eduardo Chillida and opened in 1992, during the celebration of the Universal exhibition in Seville. The message of the author was as follows; "It is not my intention to give any example to anyone, but would be perfect that someday in Seville Jewish, Arabic and Christian back to shaking hands". The photo that illustrates this contribution I did it several years ago, and is part of the article that there are dedicated to this monument in Wikipedia

Behind the making of "Monument to tolerance" there must have been definitely good intentions, the problem is that the construction was so poorly made that it is one of the ugliest monuments of Seville

  • Ridiculous and nothing in concordance with the city.

  • Work by Chillida at the bridge of Triana. She has been there since 1992 and in its day was somewhat controversial, since the design is typical of Chillida and in Seville, they thought that it did not fit. It seems to me, however, nice and is something that gives the walk by the River a special touch.

Where to stay in Seville

Seville's flat, grid-like city center makes it one of Spain's most walkable cities. While no part of the center is more than a 15-minute walk away, you might enjoy staying on one of the many picturesque cobblestone streets leading off from the famous Cathedral in Plaza España. Boutique hotels and historical apartment rentals intermix with the old quarter's tapa bars and Andalusian storefronts. Nearby, Barrio Santa Cruz is a bit quieter than the main plaza but still boasts the city's sought-after old-world charm. Across the river is the Triana neighborhood, where a lack of heavy tourism has preserved the strong local scene in this mainly residential area full of traditional restaurants and corner bars.
