  • We stayed just down the road during Semana Santa. Visited this church to see the procession pasos (floats) - they could not have been more welcoming. Such beautiful pasos from such a pretty church. Th...  more »
  • Small in scale with a very local parish feel - a polar opposite to the cathedral 100 metres down the road. Fairly restrained interior, with an elegant feel, not overwhelmed by gilding.  more »
  • The Church of Santa Cruz is located in the Barrio Santa Cruz in Seville and is a nice church to visit. The presbytery is simple but elegant. There is a small temple that has the figure of the Virgin M...  more »

  • The brotherhood that gives name to one of the most charming of Seville (despite the tourists, still keeps quiet corners)

  • The brotherhood of Santa Cruz that puts brooch gold each Tuesday Santo of the Semana Santa de Sevilla. The Church of Santa Cruz, where it has based the brotherhood and its sacred holders is worthy of being visited carefully.-

  • Located in one of the nicest neighbourhoods of the city. Get lost in the many alleys is easy

  • Only want to correct the name of the street where it seems that the brotherhood of the Holy Cross, belonging to the parish of the same name is located. There is an error in that name, says "Street of Don Carlos Alonso Chamorro", when the real name should be "Street of Don Carlos Alonso Chaparro", which was gorgeous and well weighted owner and head of the school of San Diego, which was located on that kind of alley, which is accessed from the calle Ximénez de Enciso. The students, and I think that I speak on behalf of many, that we went to that school and that we yearn for the years we spent in the many years of our childhood and puberty would like to see corrected that error, in memory of so illustrious character of Seville, because something was granted to give the name to the alley. It is true that next to the entrance to the College, in a Manor House, with a beautiful courtyard, there is a door that gives access to the rear area of the parish church of Santa Cruz, which has its main façade located on Mateos Gago Street.

Where to stay in Seville

Seville's flat, grid-like city center makes it one of Spain's most walkable cities. While no part of the center is more than a 15-minute walk away, you might enjoy staying on one of the many picturesque cobblestone streets leading off from the famous Cathedral in Plaza España. Boutique hotels and historical apartment rentals intermix with the old quarter's tapa bars and Andalusian storefronts. Nearby, Barrio Santa Cruz is a bit quieter than the main plaza but still boasts the city's sought-after old-world charm. Across the river is the Triana neighborhood, where a lack of heavy tourism has preserved the strong local scene in this mainly residential area full of traditional restaurants and corner bars.
