Iglesia Colegial del Salvador, Seville

(4.4/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Iglesia Colegial del Salvador is many things, and “subtle” or “understated” are not among them. The history of this church begins with the 9th century, and over the years it has had various influences, both in architecture and religious affiliation. You’ll see Roman, Visigothic, and Muslim elements in the present-day building, which is Baroque in style overall. There are 14 altarpieces and a sculpture by Martínez Montañés. Buy the joint ticket to see this and Seville’s cathedral without waiting in line. Put Iglesia Colegial del Salvador into our Seville trip itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The Church of el Salvador is for me one of the great churches of Seville and a must in your visit to the city because it is home to two of the essential and classic sculptures of the sevillana imagery: a) Christ love of Juan of table b) Jesus in the passion of Martínez Montañés â my I love more the second than the first. One of the incentives is to go on Easter because you find them placed in his steps for the entire Church and is a true spectacle. It is not only host these two guilds but also the triumphal entrance. Apart from this the Church is magnificent for its architecture and set of altarpieces some as curious as the cover and access the Sacramental. It is worth visiting it only to see Seville art in its purest form.

  • Along with the ticket to enter the Cathedral, is the entrance to the Church of el Salvador. It is worth visiting it. Both the main altar and Chapel are true works of art.

  • As everything that contains. Relentless, feel the divine power and all, with these sizes. We saw it with the steps inside and that distorts the Church, but it makes you see the quality of work that bears, in silver everything wrought. Church noted that he has a tour inside to admire paintings and details that I not stopped to see. However, the reflection of the colours of stained glass projected on the altarpiece Yes caught my attention. We didn't do much tail, the left that the front is for residents, and if you do find the combined (9 euros) gives you to the Cathedral and Giralda no queues.

  • Spectacular baroque church not as awe inspiring as the cathederal, but definitely worth buying the combo ticket here, viewing the ornate alter and then skipping the individual line at the main cathederal amd using the shorter group entrance
  • Very ornate. Worth a look around. Grand.
  • Great place to visit
  • I've found many other churches, way more interesting.
  • Beautiful ornaments.
