Iglesia Colegial del Salvador is many things, and “subtle” or “understated” are not among them. The history of this church begins with the 9th century, and over the years it has had various influences, both in architecture and religious affiliation. You’ll see Roman, Visigothic, and Muslim elements in the present-day building, which is Baroque in style overall. There are 14 altarpieces and a sculpture by Martínez Montañés. Buy the joint ticket to see this and Seville’s cathedral without waiting in line. • This church surprised me ... in fact, my initial intent was to visit it for the sole purpose of being able to make the ticket that would allow me to skip the, longest, row for the nearby Cathedral. Instead, to my astonishment, a visit to Iglesias de Salvador proved to be, simultaneously, a pleasant surprise and a reaffirmation of the architectural art of Seville in the middle of the historic centre of this city.

  • Spectacular baroque church not as awe inspiring as the cathederal, but definitely worth buying the combo ticket here, viewing the ornate alter and then skipping the individual line at the main cathederal amd using the shorter group entrance
  • These are quite common in Spain. It's like their department store that sells just about everything. I bought some paella pans here when I could and I still use them!
  • Very ornate. Worth a look around. Grand.
  • Great place to visit
  • I've found many other churches, way more interesting.
