  • Museum Casa del Sol in Segovia was created on the basis of the former Provincial Museum of fine arts opened in the distant year of 1842. Its funds formed from works of art retrieved from the monasteries during the confiscation of religious property. The collection thus collected were added fragments of Roman and medieval architectural elements of buildings in the city of Segovia, as well as archaeological and Numismatic finds. Among the collections of the Museum you can see a Roman mosaic, enamel Visigothic times, as well as tapestries of Flemish painters of the 15TH and 16th centuries, stained glass, glass and crystal items, religious sculptures and engravings of great Durer and Rembrandt, as well as works by contemporary painters. The unique part of the collection are and part of the wall, known as the Casa del Sol. During its existence the Museum has undergone a number of changes. He several times moved from place to place, until it stopped in that building, where it is today. His building is a strengthening in the city wall, known as the House of the Sun.
