Catedral de Segovia, Segovia

(4.3/5 based on 1,800+ reviews on the web)
Wherever you wander around town, the towering 16th-century Gothic style Catedral de Segovia looms above you. You should have no problems finding plenty of angles from which to photograph it. As you wander the building's perimeter, check out the sculpture of the Virgin Mary on the main facade. Once inside, take your time to appreciate the high vaults, dome, stained glass windows, and many paintings and sculptures. Head into the archive to see “The Synod of Aguilafuente,” the first book printed in Spain. The massive tower is only accessible with special permission from the cathedral's administrators, so don’t expect views. • I have visited several cathedrals, and it isn't exactly that of Segovia, which has impacted me most. They were works, can't take pictures, and charge you 3 euros entry (sim climb the towers or anything... the entry Basic... come on...).

  • very impressive but tower tours are only a couple times a day
  • What a massive marvel of the old times! I wish I could have seen how this operated during it's time. Absolute must for Segovia!
  • The architecture will be enough too make you visit. Full of culture. Definitely somewhere you can spend a couple of hours.
  • The most important Cathedral in Segovia, Spain.
  • Beautiful inside and outside, and a lot of stuff to see inside. I am lucky that today it is free.
