Museo de la Inquisicion, Santillana del Mar

(460+ reviews on the web)
Specialty Museum
Not for the faint of heart, Museo de la Inquisicion provides artifacts and information describing the methods of torture and capital punishment used in the Spanish Inquisition. Study more than 70 objects used to torture Jews, Muslims, Protestants, and those whom the tribunals accused of anti-Catholic offenses. Read (and be horrified by) the information displayed next to the equipment. This museum may not be suitable for children. • Very well organized, for my taste a guide audio would be phenomenal, there is much information to read and becomes longer.

  • The truth is that curious where arrive the human evil. I thought it was interesting but totally inadvisable apprehensive children or adolescents. Private being disposed of less some kind collective discount.

  • The English translation was tedious to read and only made sense half the time. Factually incorrect descriptions especailly the claims of some torture devices are still in use today. Haphazardly put together. Fun but didn't learn much.
  • Very interesting topic, but it could do with a guide of some kind instead of artifacts with explanations attached- some kind of narrative would be great. Still very good, affordable, and with good hours.
  • It has all the tools and machines that made inquisition a nightmare. Although the Iron Lady was under restauration wen we visit it...
  • Nice place to visit if you are around and only if you have strong stomach
  • Permanently closed
