  • This church is not as spectacular as the Cathedral, but also worth a visit when passing by. It is a small church located into the “Rua de San Miguel dos Agros nº 1” which is only a few steps away...  more »

  • Beautiful little church. Mass in the evening with a very small congregation (12) was very special.
  • Small church in neoclassical style of the EIGHTEENTH century built on an old temple. The façade is the work of Melchor de Prado y Mariño, finished in 1823. Inside the chapel of Los Dolores where the condemned to the gallows could pray for the last time and where their corpses were deposited before the burial. (View only from outside)

  • The current building of San Miguel, with a façade topped in 1823, has nothing to do with the antiquity of the parish, which is one of those that have its own temple – outside the cathedral – and around 1100. In The first decades of the XII his church was rebuilt in Romanesque style by the decision of Don Diego Gelmírez, the first Archbishop of Santiago de Compostela. From that past there is hardly any rest, being the most visible and remarkable the cross on the Lamb that was placed on the pediment that crowns the facade. The "Two Agros" comes from the Middle Ages, which is why, at least during the 12TH CENTURY, the area would be poorly urbanized. The Current temple was started in 1745 and ended, as has been said, in 1823 with the completion of the façade.
