Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Once a lively fishing port in the mid 19th century, Puerto Chico is now somewhat calmer, but has not lost the charm that once drew painters and writers from afar. With views of mountain and sea, this tranquil promenade is the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon. Sample tapas and fresh seafood along the way, or rest your feet and take in the views on one of the many benches that line the path. Continue east toward the Peninsula de la Magdalena to explore the early 20th-century Palacio de la Magdalena and its gardens, or the nearby beaches of golden sand. You may want to rent a bike to reach the peninsula or go farther north to the beach of Sardinero, which is regarded as one of the most elegant beach resorts in Spain. Puerto Chico is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Santander Edition.
