Peninsula of Magdalena, Santander

4.8
Jutting out into the emerald Bay of Santander, Peninsula of Magdalena contains the Palacio de la Magdalena palace and gardens and two clean beaches for your lazing pleasure. Head to the peninsula's small zoo to glimpse penguins and seals. Check out the full-scale reproduction of the Santa María, one of Columbus’ ships that sailed to the New World. Paths offer views of dramatic cliffs over the Cantabrian Sea. Alternatively, a small train circles the peninsula, delivering the same vistas with significantly less effort. • Great location, beautiful but... poor penguins and seals. Cheese because this Bay is really extraordinary!

  • The Magdalena peninsula is in a spectacular location and the views over the Bay of Santander are really worth. It must be part of the visit to the city of Santander, no doubt. The buts are, at least in August, the noise caused by the setting of the festival being held there (sound tests...) and the palacio de la Magdalena is very difficult to visit, due to the activities of the UIMP, weekends from 10 to 13 hours only. Other tourist attractions are normal: there is the typical train which turns you (well if it gets very hot, with cool weather better walking) and the mini zoo is OK if you go with children but it's not of this world.

  • You have to go absolutely. You get there if you want to take the train because it rightly should contribute to the economy of the area and because they give interesting explanations, but then turn walk every corner has its own sea when we went sailing boats were at Brest in France and were hauled there in front: show. The Palace should be visited but in summer it's half a day only in the morning coming down you can swim at the beach

  • A nice place to walk, play (playground for kids), sunbathe & swim, just enjoy a morning or afternoon.
  • Great place to walk around and see all sorts of cool things while always having the best view of crashing waves
  • Essential Santander ideal place to stroll, sunbathe or go to the beach. You can turn on a train for more than € 2 adult and €1.4 child will make you a panoramic view of 15 mins, I recommend doing so to walk to be able to see well at Palace has the replica of three ships and a small space with sea lions and penguins very careful mere CE worth the walk or lie down on their lawn slopes to soak up the Sun (if you touch that's clear) Ideal with children. Large games area

  • Good place to spend an afternoon alone or with family and friends. You have parking spaces for people with disabilities. There are extensive gardens and playground. On the other hand we can see animals such as ducks, penguins, seals and sea lions. In addition to the Palace that characterizes this place. If you're not a person who likes to walk, you have a Madaleno, a small bus train-shaped. Finally we have nearby beaches if we refresh ourselves.

Where to stay in Santander

For views over the water and a wide selection of restaurants, consider staying near the Puerto Chico, or "little port," area. Lodging on the historical Camino de Santiago en Santander street puts you in the path of many of the city's walking tours. The streets that jut off Alameda de Oviedo are full of markets, cafes, and shops that put you in the middle of activity.
