  • I have twice visited this museum. The first time paying, more than one year ago. The second, for free this same afternoon. We have come to the Museum about 1715. Upon entering, the woman who was at the door told us that we had little time. So we asked him time closing and very dry form has told us that we should be out before six in the afternoon. As we already knew the route, visit to the 17.57 we have finished without difficulty. I know the exact time of departure, because my seven-year-old nothing more out asked me to go to the bathroom and I looked at the time to make sure that there was still time. Being Sunday and given the location of the Museum, I decide to enter that you use the toilet. What is my surprise, and that of the visitors who went out at that time, to check that the same woman prevents us from step. We are told that it can not be entered and it is closed. I say we just leave and the child only needs to go to the bathroom. It refuses entry of dry and very impolite way. Luckily the only child needed to pee, if it had wanted to vomit or another emergency, it would have to do in the lobby? In the entry? In short, I have worked in the tourism sector in Cantabria as outside the region. I am aware that work a Sunday and having to close at 18.00 is not dish taste. But if the goal is to run at 18.00, so closing time is at 1755. And that public services installed outside... or maybe that invest in customer service training courses.

  • Some of the reviews put me off slightly but we decided we’d go for it. It was 8 Euro for myself, my son was free entry. He loved looking at all the exhibits as did I. My lack of Spanish let me down sl...  more »
  • It is a beautiful and educational Museum for everyone I've gone with my small yesterday Sunday afternoon is free, however it was not crowded. The collection of models is impressive, them explains the maritime history and shipping company Spain. Some of them are very elaborate, in showing the French occupation of Santoña Bay. It has precious boats to scale, with all the details. There is another area of marine technology. It is a museum that contains much information, to look without rushing, which is not easy if you are visiting with kids. Spectacular giant squid. So are the skeletons of a sperm whale and a whale, they suspended from the ceiling. The kids enjoy huge aquariums on the ground floor. There are small sharks in the big aquarium. Available area with bleachers to sit and contemplate the fish, ideal if you coincide with mealtime. On the top floor is the restaurant, desde he can enjoy the wonderful view of its location, overlooking the Bay. It is a very comprehensive Museum, with all services, even features a shop out and with a warm and friendly treatment by employees. Outside, you can park free. Except in summer light, beside it is the beach of the dangers. In its vicinity is also a children's playground, and a fixed wooden Daybeds, to relax and enjoy the sea air.

  • Fine mix of aquarium concentrating on local species and maritime exhibition. Well kept, in good state. Information in Spanish, French and English. But no audio guide. You can spend between 90 minutes to three hours. They also have a restaurant, but I recommend outside just opposite the street a small local place, which was used by the locals.
  • Nice museum with aquarium of local sea like. Exhibits in both Spanish and English. Covers the history of Maritime actually in the region from Roman times to today. Definitely worth doing on a rainy day. Also has a restaurant on the to floor and a nice park for kids next door.
  • Small but interesting aquarium in the basement and the museum helps you understand that maritime history of the area. Restaurant must be reserved in advance and only serves a set menu. Tiny bar area for snacks with no seating - this needs improving.
  • We got there in time for the last hour of the day. The good: we got to see it and it was free. The not so good: we felt rushed.
  • Lots to see, including a rather good aquarium. Some description are in English, which we like!!
