  • El Mercado de la Esperanza is the place where many locals traditionally shop for fresh fish, fresh produce, meats and other market foods. The lower level is the fish and seafood area, where one can fi...  more »
  • Are expecting a gourmet market. Nothing more wrong! This market is a market for shopping! You will find fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and any kind of fresh produce. Is meat that makes me want to make a bonfire and Grill right there in the Middle by adding just a few grains of salt and a chilli out a newsstand next door. This is a real market for us real without any pretentiousness. The architecture is simply brutal. Taking into account the age of the building (opened in 1904 according to wikipedia) the way it was designed to take advantage of the natural light lapping an architect with vision.
