Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
2.9/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web
Built in 1929 to replace a 16th-century fortress, Plaza de Espana serves today as the principal square of the Canary Islands. Surrounded by ornate government buildings and other plazas, and centered upon a giant manmade lake, the square lies directly in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Admire the plaza’s mountain-ringed backdrop and its monument to the fallen soldiers of the Spanish Civil War. Grab a coffee or a drink at one of the plentiful cafes, or sit down for a meal at one of the surrounding restaurants serving traditional Canary Island seafood. History buffs can visit an underground display providing history and artifacts from the Castillo de San Cristobal that once stood here. • If you give a ride by the city, Santa Cruz de tenerife, it's okay to go out there, nor is it much.

  • The Plaza of Spain, and next to it the de La Candelaria, are must-see in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Remodeled a few years ago, this area was equipped with a modern and functional environment surrounded by cafés and starting point of the main commercial streets of the city centre.

  • A nicely crafted town square, which is very impressive for the huge round víztükörrel. The square's cafes.
