The former monastery has been restored beautifully. The stairs made of wood are well worth a visit. But other than that not too much to see. Standing around a few old devices: 2 old looms, a mill from an old mill, a few old phones on the wall. A few information panels enlighten a few historical details. Pictures and Astrofotografien are mainly to see. If you expect information about the history of La Palma, it is rather disappointed. From stuffed animals, partially mentioned in the comments, there was nothing to see. Summarized: the architecture is quite beautiful, but very meager facilities and information.

A museum with a mix of various displays of stuffed animals, painting, stone and consumer products. Fun facts about the history of the island. The Lady at the reception speech only Spanish but mer sign language she knew yet to make clear how the route through the museum ran.

Quiet museum in part of an old convent. Some fascinating paintings by local artists and photographs of the night skies above La Palma. A rather sad display of stuffed birds and other animals. Although...  more »

I agree with previous reviewers, this really is a delight. There are a variety of thoughtfully restored/preserved items, old and new, and it really gives a sense of the island's cultural history. Lovely building and helpful staff too. Pretty good value at four euros I reckon.

Very interesting. A very nice building with patio, on the other hand but also the museum itself with its exhibits. With a little imagination, the old La Palma (agriculture and fisheries) for the viewer comes alive here. In addition also exhibition of paintings.

Visit advisable. Visit their rooms so heterogeneous content is an enriching experience.

What a wonderful place! A former monastery, now used as a Museum, turns out to be a piñata of Palmero culture. In the courtyard, the Spanish Majesties once planted many; so, the overall impression of an architectural treasure box also wonderfully completes itself. In addition to historical objects of everyday life, inclined visitors will find minerals, sea animals and above all: peace. Especially liked the art exhibition, which seems to be made for this place has given me. Foreign artists are exhibited here, but also palmerische. All in all an unconditional recommendation for every visitor in Santa Cruz.

Have you not to look at. At least not if you want to learn more about La Palma. At least half of the Museum consists of art exhibitions and stuffed animals.
