  • Visit this castle is not complicated. You can get to the foot of the same in car and the rise are 10 minutes. From the top to enjoy a magnificent view of the entire region, nice place down since where the Hermitage is barbecues for countries a good time with friends or family and eat

  • Castell de Farners and the environment deserve among a very well and almost excellent, but little empathy restorers in not doing enough accessible entrance to the Castle and the access to the top of the Tower make me rate it - as with a 'Normal', suggestion mode and warning. If only they put some steps up the rock with a handrail, facilitarian access to people today cannot reach inside. Visited the Castle accessing with the car until a little before arriving to the Esplanade of the Hermitage. Visit drive, des village, ida, visit and return, you can do an hour and a half. During the ascent we found enough people making the journey on foot, enjoying the view, but if you go with small children it is best the vehicle. The Castell de Farners is a small castle of beautifully restored medieval origin which is located 10 minutes drive from Santa Coloma de Farners, which are about 4.5 km approximately. To arrive, the address is very well indicated and starting from the Parc of Sant Salvador is makes it rise with a road of Earth compact suitable for any type of vehicle, although not recommended for sports, best go with cars that not are low. 200 metres from the foot of the Castle, there are Farners Hermitage, a small sanctuary of plant Greek, not very large, which highlights a porch and the stature of the Verge de Farners inside. The santuari is normally closed and can only be visited from outside. What surprised us most of the visit is that since they did so careful reform of the Castle and of the environment, the last access to the Castle, it is rather complicated and not suitable for elderly people and young children if they don't help. It is only the last meters and that is why it is incomprehensible that not have polished better one of the two entrances, making it more accessible to all visitors, already not talking about people who can not walk, but yes to those who do it with some difficulty. Some handrails, put some steps up the rock... not is much what is needs so more people can enter. Once inside, we can admire the building, not very large, plant in the form of a trapeze, high walls and a tower on which you can climb for views that reach up to Girona and the next Eix Transversal on the other hand. Best are the views to the Castle if only, but has a lot of charm. It curious is that the mobility by the inside is quite careful (except for the last access to it high of the Tower, that returns to be not suitable for a sector of them visitors) and instead not it is them last metres of the outside. In the surroundings of the Castle, beside the shrine, there are enough barbecues and containers, but only there is a table of picnic. Us not ate in this area but by the amount of people that it did and with them aplec that is organized, it normal would be that had at least some ten tables of picnic and ones toilets public. In this sense, the Ajuntament de Santa Coloma would have to put the batteries.
