Freixenet, Sant Sadurni d'Anoia

(3.8/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
The leading product of Freixenet, Carta Nevada, put this cava producer on the map. Its cava gained international renown in 1974, with the release of Cordon Negro. Both recipes are still produced at this historic winery. Tour the winery and cellars and watch the bottling process, then head over to the tasting room to sample the cava. The village's main train station is just outside the winery's main entrance. Trains will carry you back to your Catalonia lodging along with your new bottle of bubbly. • It's isn't bad to go to the area to see the vineyards etc, but the visit itself to the caves does not kill, make you stroll by the old wineries that no longer work but is not an exceptional thing. It's interesting that you explcan how cava is produced, but in general the visit is not a big deal.

  • Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide that, I'm sorry to say, talked a little too fast.
  • One of the oldest wineries in the country, very easy access since train station is next to the winery.
  • Fun visit into a winery, though we dont get to see much of production
  • Beautiful old winery, but would have likes to see some of the process of making the wine.
  • Worth a visit if you like sparkling wine. Train R4 from Barcelona. You haveto make a reservation in advance.
