  • The Coracera castle dates from the mid 15th- and seems to be built more as a hunting lodge for don Álvaro de Luna that as a defensive or military. It is well-kept but completely empty. There is Cafe.

  • Overlooking the historic castle of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. This renovated well with a main room that is very well mixed wood and steel. It also has a wine bar with a very modern design. As negative point do not find the schedule of visits to the Castle, we went and we didn't know if it was going to be open or not, they should get more visibility on the internet.

  • Very nice, I recommend it! In a place like no other, you have a wine cellar where you can taste the wines of the area.

  • The castle is restored, but has no appeal to pay for the visit. They had a kind of good wine cellar but it was closed. It has 2 rooms to acts type conferences or weddings. The only thing we was a large terrace at the top of the Castle. The castle itself has no appeal.

  • The Coracera Castle is located in the municipality of San Martin de Valdeiglesias, in the southwestern tip of the community of Madrid (Spain). It is also known as Castle of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. This fortress, built in the 15TH century, is in a good state of preservation, as a result of various works of rehabilitation, undertaken to 1940 and in the first years of the 21ST century. Your property corresponds to the castle of the Coracera Foundation, established in 2003. This entity, formed by the city of San Martin de Valdeiglesias and an individual, is rehabilitating the building for public use. On it it goes to install the Museum of wines from Madrid and is expected that hostel other units, intended for tourist and cultural dissemination in the area. Its name comes from one of the owners, don Juan Antonio Corcuera. It was a typo in a publicity pamphlet from the 1970s which gave rise to its current name. The Coracera Castle was instructed to lift by Álvaro de Luna in the 15TH century as a residence and hunting lodge. However, there are references of a previous building, dating from the times of Alfonso VIII of Castile, in the Twelfth and Thirteenth centuries. In addition to Alvaro de Luna and his heirs, the fortification has been used by various historical personalities, notably Queen Isabel la Católica, who resided in it when it was proclaimed heir to the Crown of Castile. The castle was first possession Manor and later Royal. In the 19TH century, it remained in the hands of the Baron of sacred Lily, which used it for hunting and recreational purposes. So it remained throughout the twentieth century, until its acquisition in 2003 by the city of San Martin de Valdeiglesias.

  • Saying... It is the castle of my people, it is beautiful, recently restored. As always happens... the locals are used to seeing you do not value it.
