  • Located on a small island at the mouth of the Caño de Sancti Petri, the castle is historically linked to the Temple of Melqart-Heracles, legend has it that Hercules was buried in the temple. The Castle served as a defence of the coast of Cadiz, and was also related to the arts and the Almadraba red tuna fisheries. Visit inexcusable if you're in the area, recommended use services shuttle boat (a trip more pleasant, especially for the little ones), convenient to include the guided tour. At the entrance of the castle there is a bar which serves drinks and some food to eat. Not recommended for seniors with mobility problems. The ascent to the boat or boat, can be complicated, and there are stairs to reach the Castle.

  • The entrance to the castle is face, €3 per person, there is not a single poster explaining the history of the place and no one explains anything. The best access by boat, which you can get from the Marina. The surroundings of the Castle are very nice and worth more than the inside. In addition is neglected and only visit two stays. I do not recommend going, even though reach the islet.

  • It was a pleasant surprise, we took the pac, with the sunset accompanied by our German shepherd dog. We arrived in a boat taxi, very fast, a little hope for the guided tour. Fantastic guy, knew of it that spoke and towards very pleasant way, when it was over, we saw the sunset that was also very good. Recommended experience, also told us that there would be no problems to go with our hairy and so it was.

  • The site is spectacular and is steeped in history. The guided visit to the castle is very didactic and recommended 100%. Perhaps they should give the monument more content, but still visit him and listen to his story is worth.
