Nice little museum, which has free entry for the general public. Consists of little rooms each with something different in.
Recently refurbished and restored back to its former glory monument el campinsino is at the geographical centre of Lanzarote. On approach you first see the monument created by Cesar Manrique, dedicated to the farmers of Lanzarote as they had an extremely difficult job to do. The monument depicts a farmer, cat, dog and goat and was built on a mound of volcanic rock which pre-dates the 1730 - 1736 eruption. The rest of the farmhouse is a museum with a big surprise! A volcanic crater was discovered in the centre of Lanzarote and has been turned into a 500 seat wedding venue. Walking around the grounds is relaxing and the museum offers an insight into Lanzarotes history and culture, you can see a traditional basket weaving room, troglodytes, typical Canarian kitchen, discover the wines of the region as well as see potter demonstrations. Stop for a drink or tapas in the cafeteria or return in the evening for a spectacular meal. This venue is highly recommended as visitors to the island often just drive past.
Postcard motive from lanzarote guidebooks. When you drive from San Bartolome to Famara, you cannot miss it.
Wow..! What a structure. A great picture opportunity. 👍
A monument made from tanks. Looks nice, but no need to drive hundreds if people here with buses.
Great stop, some of the exhibits are absolutely fasanating.
