  • We spent one day in Lanzarote, the subject of the magnificent San Bartolomessa Monumento al Campesino. Had to travel home from Finland over The islands of the Canaries to reach the floor of the West side of Africa here in a place where more is given the value of the land in the viljelevälle man: Monumento al Campesino is a "peasant's monument". More than ten metres a towering statue of a white shimmering in the Sun, and will direct the visitor to the Museum and the exhibition area, which in many ways will be presented in previous generations of life, work and tools. One can only wonder what tenacity and omaperäsillä solutions of this grim island is a paradise for wine-growing and prosperous agriculture developed on the Welcome to the mountains. Please come here to take a look at how the ashes and black kekäleiden looking the ground rises to the fruity grape vine! -The monument's restaurant we ate in the tradition of a meal. The second Starter was involved in all the colors of the local gardeners salad platter, of course, avocadoa, bell peppers and corn. In the second, again, home of cheese and plenty of kofio-paste, which were eaten in the lusikoimalla supporting the bulb head. My main course was a Canarian sancocho: boiled salt fish, potatoes, white sweet potatoes and kofio-paste. I ordered my dose of goat's meat stew. A decent lunch box, which nirppanokka might be vierastaisi but who represent a genuine and original Canarian gastronomy. Drink was the Malvasia wine, that it would be criminal to leave without tasting of Lanzarote. -Monumento al Campesino is a artist Cesar Manrique (1919-91). Lanzarotelainen Manrique rose to fame in the United States, but returned to his home in Isle. He planned to travel to face up to the dimensions of the environmental art in Lanzarote, the qualifying architectural entities and was ahead of its time the values of the respect of nature and environmental tourism. This is an eloquent and enchanting Monumento al Campesino.

  • Besides the architectural marvel that has created, once again, César Manrique, the monument to the peasant is an opportunity to get closer to the culture of the island, from guanche culture to the most original traditions of the island.

  • As everywhere on the island of lovely people, a warm welcome, a restaurant can be a little more expensive than in other tourist points. We ate local, Cherne, local fish, two kinds of potatoes, sweet and normal, two kinds of sauces, between two sauces a little eating of Gofio, corn-based, for a change of taste. Very good, very good. The restaurant is really very well decorated, old tools. Down and see the gigantic bathroom downstairs, she is beautiful. Down to take the passage under the rock and visit different workshops. End your visit by the shop, the Lady is lovely, very good advice for the wine, n hesitate pa to ask him places to visit, it will be good advice.

  • Recently refurbished and restored back to its former glory monument el campinsino is at the geographical centre of Lanzarote. On approach you first see the monument created by Cesar Manrique, dedicated to the farmers of Lanzarote as they had an extremely difficult job to do. The monument depicts a farmer, cat, dog and goat and was built on a mound of volcanic rock which pre-dates the 1730 - 1736 eruption. The rest of the farmhouse is a museum with a big surprise! A volcanic crater was discovered in the centre of Lanzarote and has been turned into a 500 seat wedding venue. Walking around the grounds is relaxing and the museum offers an insight into Lanzarotes history and culture, you can see a traditional basket weaving room, troglodytes, typical Canarian kitchen, discover the wines of the region as well as see potter demonstrations. Stop for a drink or tapas in the cafeteria or return in the evening for a spectacular meal. This venue is highly recommended as visitors to the island often just drive past.
  • Postcard motive from lanzarote guidebooks. When you drive from San Bartolome to Famara, you cannot miss it.
  • Beautiful place to visit, gardens are stunning as are the views!
  • A monument made from tanks. Looks nice, but no need to drive hundreds if people here with buses.
  • Wow..! What a structure. A great picture opportunity. 👍
