Bodega El Grifo - Museo del Vino, San Bartolome

(4/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Bodega El Grifo - Museo del Vino is the oldest winery of the Canary Islands, and among the ten oldest in all of Spain. Dating back to 1775, this family vineyard is located on 61.5 hectares (150 acres) of land. The work here continues to be carried out manually and with great attention to tradition. Although the wine of today is processed in modern facilities, you can take a look at the older machinery and learn about the historic production of El Grifo wine in the incorporated museum. You can also take a tour of the facility and sample some of their award-winning wines, which include (among others) white Malvasia, red Listán Negro, and sweet Muscat. • We reserve the full visit with Museum, vineyard, Winery and tasting (€ 12 per person) and it was worth much. We played Elodie, a girl French very maja, that was 2 hours with us, explaining us all! Experience 100% recommendable! And then the icing on the cake: several wine tasting (with the entry try 2 wines per person), but once again, the girl behaved very well with us. Just buying a few bottles (paying a small amount for postage, they send them you home because they have a headquarters in the peninsula)! Merci Elodie!

  • in search of the Harvests of Lanzarote ... because if you're on the other side of the island you wonder "but these grapes where?". and then you get in this wonderful place where do you find all the answers you need? where? When? ... very friendly and helpful staff ... we tasted a glass of wine ... you wanted more, but unfortunately our tour you ran the you had to go ahead. more beautiful: the walk between the grapes that made you want to gather I recommend

  • I do not recommend this visit for nothing, I think that there are best wineries to visit in the island of Lanzarote, and it is a shame because they have a good reputation, but reputation does not live. Everything is focused on the sale of wines, because since the first moment upon entering the store, eye that no Winery, already feels. Can taste the wines, but explanations rather few, a speech that know in advance, but not there is special attention to the customer. The Museum of wine, can like or dislike, but from my point of view little justifies the visit nor the price of the ticket. The wines I liked very much, but everyone has your taste in wines, and if, according to them, have won awards, but many are the wineries that have won awards, even in the same Lanzarote, and surely have a concept of different visit, and not as commercial. Also, if das to taste them wines, and according to the winery "are excellent wines", because not them serve in a cup of came adequate to so "excellent wines", because the cup of came that used in the tasting not it is. Again, another aspect more than that interest shopping in the store. Finally, the wine is more expensive in the winery that in stores, or even online. It would be nice to give a justification for what appears is basically trying to take advantage of the client, which since it is there, then that better to pay more for wine. In short, a dispensable site, in which Winery nothing of nothing, but that much store, where pay more for wines which in other places you'll find at cheaper prices, and where there is a total pasotismo to the customer. At least answer the reviews in trip advisor, that's something, but to see how they justify all that with facts not in words.

  • good wine, the land, with a very concentrated flavor! great visit ... the best time of the year is September, before the grape harvest, where the lands are dyed green contrasting with the black soil.
  • It is a wine Museum that love the taste of the origins, by the magnificent exhibition of the chica-guia; and see these vineyards treated with primor handmade...
