  • It is a very interesting site with a long history of how human beings can take advantage of what gives the nature and at the same time respect and evolve

  • -The salt Valley of Añana arises as a result of the existence of an interior salt and several springs in the same area. As a result the water that flows to the surface has a very high concentration of salt; This water is channeled through a system of pipes of wood, and after flooding the existing ages takes place, in these salt production as a result of the evaporation of the water. I visited this place a hot day in August 2016. -Is no evidence of the existence of these salinas from the s, IX; throughout its history different situations occurred in terms of its activity becoming is practically zero at one point but it has again revived activity, not just the tourist but also industrial purposes. -The eras where salt is produced have private owners; However the entire complex is managed from a few years ago by the Añana Salt Valley Foundation. In the place there is a reception centre for visitors which is where tickets are purchased, there is a shop, and also a multi-purpose room. -LOCATION: C / Real. Salinas de Añana (Álava) 32. You arriving by car to the site. I went from Bilbao; for that is enter taking the exit 6 of the AP-68 (exit Pobes-Nanclares). The GPS coordinates are: N 42.800496 and W 2.983462. -VISIT: begins at the visitor centre and there are different types (there is also a tailored visit). I did the conventional visit; It is made in the form of guided tour through an established route, with guide and group and during it is passed through the ages where shaped salt; In addition to the beautiful views are interesting explanations about issues such as: management of water and of the entire complex by the Foundation, production of salt, storage, packaging and in turn will know the different tools and structures (craft all of them) used. At the end of the visit are several eras that are sponsored by famous chefs and in which occurs the prized Fleur de Sel. In the area where it is in visitor center (which is where it starts and ends the visit) there is a pond with a high concentration of salt where people often put the feet and sit or stroll by the. Before or after the visit you can visit the existing store at the visitor center where they sell different varieties of salt and products related to this as well as some other memorabilia. The conventional visit lasts 1 hour. -PRICE: varies according to the type of visit and the time of year; the conventional visit is €6 and €7 in high season (April-October) the rest of the year; It seems to me a suitable price. There are reduced prices for certain groups. -HOURS: open year-round with different schedules depending on the season. -My impression: thought me a visit very interesting because as well as being very didactic set is very beautiful. The day I visited it was completely cleared (important) and that was to further highlight the colour of eras with salt simulating a snowy landscape. I think it is a visit of the most recommended, not required significant efforts and its price is affordable. -IT +: the visit itself which is very interesting and also the Assembly which is very nice. -IT-: nothing in particular. If anything the heat that I spent but of course... it was August and visit is free without any protection (of course that is not their fault).

  • Visit family, architecture of the complex very interesting and successful. Very nice, friendly and professional guide (which is which, ultimately, affects all kinds of visits). Walking tour by wooden bridges by visiting the entire length of the salt Valley. An hour, neither short nor long, easy for all ages. Very interesting explanations and anecdotes, is tested salt water (very salty). In the end shop to test the salt at home.
