La Rana de Salamanca, Salamanca
(3.4/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Guarantee yourself good luck all year by finding La Rana de Salamanca, sculpted into the façade of the Escuelas Menores of the University of Salamanca. Being the first in your group to spot the weathered frog remains a popular challenge for both students and tourists. Detailed sculptures of Catholic kings, popes, cardinals, and skulls adorn the rest of the highly detailed Plateresque entrance, which was finished in 1553. • If you go in Castilla y Leon, you're forced to stop at Salamanca, architectural gems, including the first University was founded in 1218 and is today a student city with more than 32,000 students from around the world, which gives an atmosphere, una movida of the friendliest in this city. You won't know where ask your eyes so much architecture is spectacular on every street corner. Not to mention the beautiful Plaza Mayor (the most beautiful in Spain in my eyes) with his musical atmosphere provided by the famous Tunas, which represent each, their University (medicine, law,...) and that animate the streets of their songs and music from the Spanish folklore. Go ahead you will never be disappointed!

  • At this time is being restored in preparation for the 2018 for the 800 years of the University of Salamanca, therefore it is not known when it will lift the scaffolding that prevent you from seeing the façade
