  • A visit to the Museo Art Nouveau y Art Deco Casa Lis in Salamanca, popularly called, is a special experience. It was the beginning of the twentieth century and is in use as a museum since april 1995. Building and exhibited collections fights with each other to what most worthy of attention: the building is a feast of aesthetics and harmony, the collections are as numerous as varied. Start with a cup of coffee at the Café Lis-and is immediately seized by the stunning stained-glass and exquisite furnishings. You can visit the carefully selected collections of porcelain, glass, bronze, wood carving, ivory combined with gold or bronze (' chryselephantines '), furniture and toys, dolls, fans, furniture-in the many period rooms on both floors. There is also an interesting collection of Spanish paintings from the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century, including appealing work of the Salamanca-born artist Celso Lagar. The museum shop has a very wide range of beautiful art déco-works of art and objects. A museum for those of style and good taste.

  • If you are one of those who enjoy the art, in this case art deco and art nouveau, the visit is highly recommended. The Museum is set with very good taste. Can take something in the coffee and admire your glasses and take photos as in the rest of the House not is allowed.

  • The casa Lis is a beautiful art Deco Palace that alone is worth the visit. In your interior has several works in porcelain, photographs, sculptures in bronze art Deco and art nouveau. Are beautiful pieces. There is also a collection of antique dolls.

  • Greatest collection of Nouveau Art in Spain. Must see!
  • I found that the receptionist was quite rude. Hablo Castellano bastante bien. Pero en mi experencia la recepcionista era muy maleducada. The building is beautiful, but I found that collection was a bit all over the place. There wasn´t a lot of continuity to the collection and there was much less in the way of Art Deco than Art Nouveau. There are many other sites and museums to visit in the city. I would recommend you try them before trying this museum.
  • Beautiful place inside and outside
  • Even the coffee place is amazing
  • Very, very nice art deco museum in Salamanca. Not all of the art was to my taste - but I was amazed at how much *was*. Several stories of art - it just kept coming! The brochures available are also very helpful and point out key items to see.
