El Tajo de Ronda, Ronda

4.8
#1 of 8 in Parks in Ronda
The town of Ronda seems impossibly perched atop El Tajo de Ronda, a 130 m (427 ft) canyon yielding views at once spectacular and a little bit frightening. Completed in 1793, the Puente Nuevo spans the gorge, its old age lending it splendor, while making the prospect of crossing slightly unnerving at the same time. If you’re up for a hike, walk the path from town down into the gorge and pass under this bridge, the tallest of three. Stop in the bridge’s small museum, detailing its history and that of the town. • We began to walk and we wanted to see the new bridge and the old, so there is a way, quite steep and tiring, but it worth it 100%.

  • Amazing view. If you want to take pictures for the new bridge, you should come here. At the bottom of the canyon is another view, which is closer to the plain on the bottom of the mountain. From the bottom of the valley overlooking the mountains, the scenery is particularly magnificent! Of course, we must be careful when walking down the mountain.
  • Great views.
  • Bridge over a huge cut caused by the passage of the Guadalevín River. The views from it are excellent. The bridge joins two areas of the city and is permanently busy. In general the visit to round is highly recommended by the beauty of the city and the environment where it is located.

  • The first settlement on the site of Ronda was Celtic Arunda, later absorbed by the Romans and conquered by the Moors in the 8th century. You try to the Reconquista of fall on the 15th, was in 1485 by Ferdinand III. Located on both sides of the deep gorge of the river Guadalevín city consists of two districts: Ciudad, which is part of the Arab (right) and the Market, that is, a later part after the Reconquista (on the left).
