Cuevona de Cuevas, Ribadesella

(4.6/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
At nearly 300 m (984 ft) from end to end, Cuevona de Cuevas serves as a connection between a series of small towns along the coast of Asturias and the rest of Spain. The cave’s massive limestone features include a host of stalactites and stalagmites. The space is home to a large array of different mosses, ferns, and fungi. As you wander along the length of the cave's inner chamber, keep a sharp eye out for the large colony of bats that calls the cave home. The cave provides an important passageway and transportation link for the village that is its namesake, and the road through the cave is still open to car traffic. Some roadside parking spots are available near the cave’s entrance. For Cuevona de Cuevas and beyond, use our Ribadesella vacation builder to get the most from your Ribadesella vacation.

  • It is a beautiful, from the inside, place from the outside. Ideal to take some pictures as I remember to visit. Quiet, easy to Park, becomes a double visit; It moves first in car and then they parked and calmly walking tour.

  • I am a neighbor of the village of caves. I advise people to come it to see the surprise that they are at the end of the cave. It is not an attraction as cited, but it is a place of transit, both for residents and visitors, and most importantly, that do not throw trash on the ground, that doesn't cost any work throw it into a container or trash. Enjoy the landscape.

  • It is worth to see it approach, it is spectacular. If you decide to take a stroll there to be careful because that circulates inside the road that serves as access to the village.
