Finca Villacreces, Quintanilla de Onesimo

(4.6/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Offering a comprehensive cellar tour and wine-tasting experience, Finca Villacreces sits in a 200-year-old pine forest, one of the area's most picturesque locations. The very first vines were planted here in the 1200s--decades later, the estate was converted into a monastery. Today, the winery covers 115 hectares (285 acres) along the Duero River, which protects the vines from adverse effects of frost. The estate's signature wine is aged for 14 months to develop a full-bodied taste with smoky hits. Reserve your tour in advance by e-mail or phone. • The Finca Villacreces is a place that impresses you by landscapes and tranquility transmitted from the first moment. From the first moment his staff gives you the information and attention necessary to make your trip a special experience. Explanation about their wines is fairly detailed and allows that, those with little experience, will motivate to learn more about wine. It would be worthwhile to return when it is time of harvesting, to better see the vineyards and their products

  • A small but interesting wine cellar. The tour of the facilities is OK and the wine tasting is very simple. We would have liked more time for tasting but a shorter visit. We miss less didactic elements on wines, odors, flavors, etc. Normalito

  • . Visits to the wineries Villacreces I more than liked it, I thought. Found me interesting and very curious to explain me with so much detail and so well as the wine is made. The final tasting is also interesting if you like the Douro Ribra zone wine

  • Visit short but intense. Since it is a relatively new feels that they are expanding and improving their processes.
