  • Of course to try the delights of this island belongs to a la Palma holiday and of course to buy. Da el Fajal is right. Unfortunately us that recently the tourists in large buses will be carted here and thus this small market to run over something is noticed. Unfortunately, hence a little bit lost flair of the whole, but pleased the producers (hopefully?)

  • This is the place to be on Saturdays and Sundays on La Palma. Lots of food stalls, including cheeses (visit Doris, who has won best cheesemaker on the island), anti-pasti, canarian bakers (try the pin...  read more »
  • We are each year on La Palma and visit as we are self catering, every Saturday farmer's market in Puntagorda, which is located in a market Hall. All fresh products from producers from the environment. The way is worthwhile in any case. We buy our vegetables, fruit, bread and olives, there regularly it is inexpensive. Recently, there are also the three viewpoints with glass bottom. From there, you have wonderful views. When it comes out from the market hall to the left in the large parking lot, you can see even these three viewpoints.

  • More than just a market, this place is a social gathering spot where all the rural residents come together on Saturday afternoons. There are events like chess competitions and cheese tasting contests. Outside are personal stalls, like a car-boot sale. There'll often be some musicians playing simply for fun. Inside stalls include fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, wine, cakes, and arts and crafts. There are a lot of families, tourists, and 'alternative' people of all ages just hanging out, drinking freshly pressed sugarcane juice. Open Saturdays 1500-1900 and Sundays 1100-1500. Every vendor I met spoke Spanish, English, and German. If you're not feeling social, then you'll see it all in 30 minutes, but if you start talking with people you could spend all afternoon there. During week nights the place also doubles as a venue for educational classes, everything from makeup to chainsawing. It's beside the El Fayal campsite near the football pitch, a 5-minute walk from Puntagorda's central crossroad, or from Las Tricias after crossing the valley walk alongside the big brown water pipe.
  • Puntagorda market attracts all residents and tourists alike. On Saturday afternoon from 15:00 and Sunday morning from 11:00. There is everything, fruits, vegetables, cheese, cakes, bread, crafts, products etc. It is a very special meeting in the North-West of La Palma.
