  • The monastery of Puig is a religious building which has been declared historic-artistic monument since 1969. This great monument construction began during the year 1237 mandated by Jaime I in commemoration of the battle that allowed the reconquest of Valencia, which is believed that also coincided with the emergence of the image of the Virgin of Santa Maria of the Puig, the patron saint of the town and of the Kingdom of Valencia. Founded by the religious of the MERCED, but its use has changed dramatically during the passage of the years, since the monastery of Puig was used as a temple, school, and even prison. But today also has several utilities, it is the residence of the Spanish Royal family in his footsteps by Valencia and headquarters of several cultural and political events... etc. In the interior of the monastery we see the cloisters, the Church, and an interesting sample of the printing press. Very interesting visit guided by Amparo, who wished to convey the enchantment of building cultural anecdotes and art.

  • The Kings were staying in this monastery (even Juan Carlos and Sofia did sometimes) when coming to valencia in what you can visit up to his bedroom. Very well kept inside, the Church is very popular in the region by how beautiful that is, has an interesting art gallery and very old books in the history of the former Kingdom of Valencia.
