4.7/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Explore the depths of Cuevas de Valporquero, a breathtaking cave in the hills of León. The open route of the cave takes you through six huge halls, where you’ll admire formations like stalactites and stalagmites. The walk is fairly easy to navigate, so you won’t have to worry about steep climbs, tight squeezes, or slippery stairs. The guides speak Spanish, but brochures in English are offered at the entrance. Take a picnic to eat just outside, where you can enjoy the views of the countryside. • We learned of this site by chance, while in Leon's visit. Not had heard talk of these caves in her life. Now I don't understand why now that I've been in caves better known and that they are not half as impressive. There are two visits per day that are the "long", I recommend that you book these online, since we did not know it, and when we arrived it was already full long visit and we had to do the short (also worth much) there are areas which reach 40 meters in height. Above all we must take something warm, inside the cave there is a constant temperature 7 ° c year-round. You can go perfectly with children, on our visit, there were families with children of all ages. In short, spectacular.

  • We did the "short" visit and it seemed to us to be very complete. The guide very nice and professional. We have a pending visit (we will do the "long") in the spring to see the spectacle of the river flowing through the interior.

  • The caves are of great beauty who does not reside in paintings but in formations and size some rooms left open-mouthed, travel you transported to a dimension that seems alien to the usual. The guides, despite often repeat visits, counted it as if they were discovered, thanks Mr. caves, and with an incredible patience.
