  • It is the most notable building in the village, with an imposing exterior along the river. It is a noble defensive Tower, of the Marquis of Santillana. It has an austere exterior, but leaves no's is nice. Requires payment for access to its interior. Inside houses a museum referred primarily to the Beato de Liébana. There is a lift that goes up to the top floor from which you can climb to the upper terrace has a magnificent view of pots and the landscape that surrounds it. The museum space does not require more than one hour. Each plant is almost a room. The most interesting is a plant which presents reproductions of books written and drawn by hand in the medieval monasteries, before the invention of the printing press. The visit, is pleasant but the best is the view from the top of the tower. The nearby neighborhood is full of charming casitas and a layout that gives it a special charm.

  • After having crossed the Gorge of La Hermida, we find the beautiful village of Potes, in a Green Valley and the Picos de Europa in the background. In the Centre of the town and on the banks of the river Deva we see a majestic Square Tower of the 15TH century, the Tower of Infantado, ancient possession of the Marquis of Santillana. Currently in her exhibitions are temporary on various topics from the top of the monument are beautiful views of the people, the environment and the Picos de Europa. Visit interesting.

  • . Spectacular inside and out It's clearly the main monument in Potes, standing out above the cute little houses packed in tiny streets. Inside comes as a shock, because it has been restored and turned into a very modernist museum, all glass and steel. Attractive, mind you. The exhibitions are strikingly presented, worth visiting just for the visual impact. But the creme de la creme is the very top floor, where you go outside and walk around the battlements, getting a 360 degree view of the town and beautiful countryside. Cameras and smartphones ready! Look down from the top to spot which bar/restaurant you're going to sit in and have lunch. TIP 1: Large carpark on the S side of town - but packed on Saturdays for market day TIP 2: There are good lavatories in the tower. .
