  • Say that it is not in Poo de Llanes, if not in Vidiago. It's a rock or "penatu" in Asturian, but remained the name of Peña tú. It is in a high, climb steep among eucalyptus, and is a rock of singular shape that has a few prints of prehistoric origin, in which there is a kind of Idol or warrior whose side there is a knife or sword. While Asturias is there are prehistoric caves with engravings and paintings, these rock shelters are scarce, and by its high position could be places of worship. The views of the Sierra del Cuera and la Sierra plana de La Borbolla are impressive.

  • There is a parking lot at the base and an interpretation Center. We found it closed and nor were there any note with the schedules. The ascent is steep and the smell of the eucalyptus is a plus. Recommended to wear shoes that grip well, monte boots better. Above you have the reward of breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Although we have read in reviews that there was a guide there, we saw none. So all the explanation of the signs marked on the rock we had to invent. A pity that it can not get schedule information.

  • A parkin and the interpretation centre welcomes you to rise beside the road. The road has an option with more slope and other less but somewhat longer. Pays perhaps to eventually with just 200 m of difference and the slope I think it does not compensate for. The views above are very cool and the monument although this fence is perfectly engraving. A panel with an explanation is Miss even to explain its origin or some story about a bit.

  • Magical place. Neolithic to the surface. Mounds 2 km from there. The guardian of the monument you kindly indicate. The ride to get to the penalty is very pleasant and Nice.

  • Very interesting.

  • 1km climb from the parking which makes it worth as soon as you see the wonderful views. In addition we found a guide walk from monument that explained all detail the engravings.

  • Side of the road is the classroom and parking. The other point is the idol, at the top of the mountain. The classroom is only open for groups on reservation

  • The idol of Peña tú is part of a set of prints and Neolithic paintings. Before reaching the set there is a classroom but it is best to contact the Llanes Tourist Office to visit.
