  • We were in the Group at the Pontevedra Museum a few days ago. I think that more than 25 years ago that he did not return to this space. The visit we made, with guide, was one of the buildings that I did not know. Added over the years. In the Museum we made a journey through archaeological remains (including the Celtic treasure), by sculptures recovered over time, our painters, Castelao, Laxeiro,... Our guide to more attentive. They were nearly two hours in his company that we were short, went flying. Integration, which was made of this Museum in the city is unmatched, almost perfect. As one goes up the floors, you can observe how joined the Museum and the city. You don't know where to start the city and the Museum. Can the city itself, is becoming a Museum, but a lively, vibrant Museum... Both the city and the Museum are highly recommended. Personally I think that the things were done well.

  • Today the Museum of Pontevedra is centalizado in the sixth building. Here you can visit a stretch of the medieval walls in the basement. On the ground floor is the temporary exhibition room. On the first floor there is a tunnel that connects with the Sarmiento building in which archaeology and prehistory section is located. On the same floor of the modern building we can see medieval art. On the upper floors the tour takes us by painting Spanish and Galician of the 19th and 20th centuries. You can visit all of a room dedicated to the work of Castelao. Also here on the part of the Sarmiento building can take a tour of all the styles of Sargadelos ceramics and a part of Cartuya. In the third-floor painting and contemporary sculpture.

Was girl when visited this last with the College and I left speechless the cabin of the ship of Méndez Nuñez, the collections of jewelry traditional, Goldsmith religious, Jet and the treasure of Caldas. Major British point nineteenth-century collection which has still delighted me. For lost, alone or with children...
