Faro de Pechiguera, Playa Blanca

(1.8/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Faro de Pechiguera makes an ideal end destination for a walk along the coast. Today there are two lighthouses at this spot. The old lighthouse opened in 1886; it was replaced by a more modern facility which stands next to it, 120 years later. Sit by the lighthouses among the rocks and feel the wild waves crash around you. Take in the views of Lanzarote’s beaches, surrounding hills, and even the coast of Fuerteventura. • Most romantic at sunset, but during the day very sad because the tower is very run down and everything is fully gesprayt. What a pity. Many look at Fuerteventura. But to do so you'd have no extra to the tower. Must not do.

  • The lighthouse has no architectural interest, and the surroundings are quite dirty and left. The only thing the views.

  • Most people never venture very far from the beach but you never know what you are missing. a walk along the prom takes you to the lighthose and veiws you would miss if you stayed near the town  more »

  • One of those places you feel like you need to visit. Not spectacular. Lots of wind and waves.
  • Ok if you have a walk along the coast but don't go there for it since there's nothing special around it.
  • Shame on whoever is responsible for the upkeep of this building, it could be a beautiful tourist attraction but like many things on Lanzarote the maintenance is lacking.
  • Ugly and dirty lighthouse. It's a pity, as the situation and the coast it's not bad.
  • Great views over towards Playa Blanca and the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. Very surprised however to see how run down this area is, especially the graffiti on the orginal lighthouse building. I'd of thought as it's a listed building more would be done to keep it clean and possibly offer an information board about its past.
